HOW TO: Instantly feel happier.

A sad generation hiding behind memes, alcohol and weed and sex. You talk to someone and one minute they are deep into tears, people are going through a lot behind closed doors. It is a very sensitive topic and for this reason I will give some ways which have worked for me to instantly feel better.

A short story, I have been on the low for quite some time, it is what happens when you don’t have a job or rather a constant flow of income. It is a daily battle of being hopeful and not sinking into depression. the honest truth is that, feeling good or happy is not something you wait to happen, you have to trigger your mind and actions. It is difficult when your headspace is not right but once you push into some actions, the feelings catch up, this is what I mean:

Sing on top of your lungs, and dance while at it, tested and proven. Jam to music of your choice, I prefer to shuffle, element of surprise. I love salsa dance and whenever I’m feeling low, it’s my go to type of music.it also helps to stand in front of a mirror and have your own audience imagine singing to someone you like.

Go outside: it always works, I like visiting the farm, sense of comfort and encouragement, to see plants blooming, the time and effort it takes, gives me hope that as long as I’m putting effort no matter how little it shall be fruitful.

Smile, just do it right now!

Call a friend or family: we all have those people in our lives that will just give you good energy, whole lots of laughter too.

Eat some dark chocolate, its science, go google.

Exercise; I know it has been said a lot but it is true. Fact is that you might not feel like at the beginning but once you push yourself to just start, the end result is lots of energy and happiness guaranteed. my mantra lately has been if I can sit down for a whole hour aimlessly scrolling through socials then I can spend an hour working out and so, it doesn’t matter what I do withing the one hour, could be skipping or walking, it just has to be equal measure of time spent on socials.

 Get into your hobby, I love to cook, when I get into it brings me happiness the process from start to finish. Some other ways could be painting, swimming, reading or even taking a nap.

This are just a few ways to make to you feel happier and avoid taking the road of overthinking and getting stressed over life, find cheap ways to make you feel brighter and lighter. in turn it will enhance your creativity and psyche to pursue what you want. in the process you even get ideas on what you can do for the rest of the day or week.
