so,let me tell you…

This ‘donda’ had to actually make the bus stop so that i can go sit on the front in the middle of the highway. I thought it was because i was sitting on his seat which is usually not allowed. So i hoped on to the front only to realize that the driver wanted to have a chit chat with me.

It was only the two of us, he had been on the look out if i had alighted the whole time via his side mirror and once the seats at the front were empty he asked his conductor to let me come to the front. So we start having that coversation, who are you ,what do you do and from which tribe? and not just that from exactly which side of the moutain do you come from? Red flag!.

He went ahead stating that ladies from that specific area are the most dangerous, well, I’m not really sure how you expect me to feel after you’ve said that. I couldn’t alight either, so kept on with the coversation. He went ahead asking if i wear short dresses because he feels that is prositute behaviour, i kid you not, he said it in swahili you know how vulgar it sounds.

At this point i was completely done with him, to make it worse he told me he lives with his mum. Not that it is bad, but you have so many demands and yet. Can you man up first then come talk to me, go listen to Andrew kibe atleast. BOY ,YOU DESERVE SOME WHIPS.Already in a 10 mins coversation you have already branded me a dangerous person because of the region i come from, you are already setting your commands that no short dresses allowed in your world, as if. I wasn’t even wearing a dress. He came all the way wrong!

This brings me to the stigma people have given certain tribes and women specifically. Being a dangerous person in this sense a ‘killer’ is not and will never be a cultural thing, it is actually a personal issue. It is not affiliated to cultures but mental health problems because surely who really would in his/her right mind want to harm another human being? I understand there are driving forces but it definitely doesn’t have to reach there, just go separate ways. In Here are few tips to help you feel better.

We are in the 21 centuary where people want mixed race, tribe/ culture families and you cannot be too adamant and hold yourself to just one culture. We are ONE, our differences is what makes us beautiful and interesting. Lets get out of that conservertive mentality and backward thinking. A youth in kenya should know better and do better.

Anyway, It is election period in Kenya and the last thing we want is chaos just beacuse ‘your’ preferred person did not win. Remember that we depend on one onother for survival. if you are a boda guy your customers are from different tribes, influencer-your views are across all cultures, mtumba resell, smokie and mayai pasua, office guys you name it. We need each other. This is not the time to used but to come together. Lets learn to agree to disagree.

The Kenya Youth Manifesto is out now, we have set our demands and the next government should be able to cater to our demands as youths from various counties, cultures and tribe. Lets focus bana! If you hear anyone spreading hate speech just let him or her know that he/she is not doing right by us and by him/herself too. Be the bigger person and encourage them to change their mentality.

You know how we do it on December, Sherehe to the fullest. let us have something to celebrate when that time comes. let that be PEACE!
